Grades and Standards 2022, 6th Edition – Now in Effect
The Florida Department of Agriculture, Division of Plant Industry began the process of reviewing and updating the Florida Grades and Standards Manual in October 2019. Subcommittees with representative from the industry were formed for the tree and palm sections with the goal of reviewing and updating the 5th Edition that went into effect September 1, 2015. We are pleased to announce The Florida Grades and Standards for Nursery Plants 6th Edition is completed and now ready to be viewed and downloaded. The 6th Edition of the Florida Grades and Standards for Nursery Plants went into effect July 1, 2022.

The Landscape Show
August 24-26, 2022, Wednesday – Friday at the Orange County Convention Center West Concourse. Trees On The Go Workshop
Join us Friday, December 2nd at Stewarts Tree Service in Brooksville, Florida for Trees On the GO!, a one-day educational program produced by the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association. This year’s workshop will have a special focus on the new 2022 Florida Grades and Standards as well as selection, production, handling and successful installation of palms and trees. Trees on the GO!! has partnered with Roots Plus Growers (RPG) to provide a hands-on outdoor workshop focused on the importance of quality trees in the success of our landscapes and urban forests. Our cities are growing rapidly but, if armed with the proper real-world strategies, landscape professionals can play an integral part in creating beautiful tree canopies for years to come. Speakers include Dr. Ed Gilman, Dr. Ryan Klein, John Conroy, Michael Marshall and Randy Stewart. This program will be an outside workshop format with hands-on demonstrations, lunch is included. Arboriculture Short Course

Developed for novice arborists, perfect for arborists studying for the ISA Certification exam. Send your new employees and teach them the basics of arboriculture. Also for urban foresters, consultants, landscape architects, landscape contractors, horticulturalists, nursery operators and HOA managers. 2020 Tropical Plant International Expo

The Tropical Plant Industry Exhibition (TPIE) will be held from January 22-24, 2020 at the Broward County Convention Center. Trees Florida Conference and Trade Show – June 17-19

 

The Trees Florida 2019 Conference and Trade Show is scheduled on Monday-Wednesday, June 17-19, 2019 at the Harbor Beach Marriott in Ft. Lauderdale. 2019 FNGLA Annual Convention – June 21-22

FNGLA’s Annual Convention is a time each year for FNGLA members and industry friends to celebrate the past year of success while welcoming FNGLA’s new leadership taking office. Florida ASLA Annual Conference & Expo – July 11-13

As we look toward 2019 Marshall Tree Farm will be celebrating our 35th year growing quality trees for the Southeast Landscape Industry. We are truly thankful to be a part of such a great industry and would like to thank all of our loyal customers and industry friends for your business and relationships over the last 35 years.

We will be closed on December 24th and 25th and December 31st and January 1st to celebrate the holidays with family. We will be open for business on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of Christmas & New Year’s Holiday weeks.

2018 Friends of Our Urban Forest Awards

Nominations for the 2018 Friends of Our Urban Forest Awards Program are being accepted (Deadline, December 28th) in the following categories: Outstanding Professional, Outstanding Tree Advocate or Tree Advocacy Group, Outstanding Project, Outstanding Urban Forestry Program and Lifetime Achievement Award. The awards will be presented to each winner at a local event held in their own community. This could be a city commission meeting, tree planting ceremony, or other special event. In this way, the “Friends of Our Urban Forest” award recipients will receive special recognition within their own communities – where it matters most. These presentations will be scheduled in late January and early February which may allow for some award presentations to be held in conjunction with Arbor Day celebrations.
